Elizabeth “Lyzz” Ogunwo, a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, has an extensive background in community organizing, cross-sector collaboration, and organizational development..
Lyzz became the White House Liason to the Peace Corps in 2015. Prior, she was Organizational Development and Planning Coordinator at Living Cities. In that role, Lyzz worked closely with both the CEO and COO to manage organization-wide operations and strategic planning efforts. She provided support and counsel on Board and organizational development matters and coordinated Board-directed and special initiatives.
Prior to joining Living Cities, Lyzz worked for the Obama for America Campaign in 2008 and 2012 and for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee as an Assistant Director for the National Day of Service. She also served in the first Obama Administration at the White House and the U.S. Department of Energy, spearheading the creation of the White House Energy Council on Women and Girls. Lyzz is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Senegal as a community economic and small enterprise development agent. There, she helped establish two small businesses and catalyzed local gender equity initiatives through sport and leadership trainings.
