Christelle Prophete

Christelle Prophete is a former Senior Associate at Living Cities where she managed projects toward building racial equity practice within the organization and supported the Year of Reckoning cohort.

Before joining Living Cities, Christelle served as Movement Building Associate at Demos, a dynamic think tank that powers the movement toward a just, inclusive, multiracial democracy. There, Christelle managed a cohort of 35 grassroots organizations across 17 states through successful national convenings, curated monthly content, and essential financial assistance. In 2020, Christelle’s strategic thinking, systems orientation, as well as her passion and commitment to racial equity paved the way for nearly $1 million in essential funding to grassroots partners toward durable democracy reform. She is also a founding member of the Demos Equity and Inclusion Advancement team, where she collaborated on policies toward different and inclusive ways of being at the organization.

Christelle has also served as operations lead at Data & Society Research Institute where she managed Whisky Wednesdays, a weekly networking mixer, and Data Bites, a regular speaker series that presents timely conversations about the purpose and power of technology today.

Christelle holds a Master in Public Administration with a focus in government from Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stony Brook University. Christelle is a native New Yorker who enjoys reading speculative fiction, maintaining her growing plant collection, and daydreaming about daring futures.
