Carla Reed

Carla Reed is the Assistant Director of Talent and Organizational Development at Living Cities where she oversees the full human resources suite, including performance management, training and development and compensation. 

She has nearly 13 years of progressive human resources experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors having previously worked for The Raben Group and America’s Promise Alliance. Most recently, she oversaw human resources as the Deputy Director of Human Resources at Community Change, a national organization that builds power from the ground up through grassroots organizing, policy advocacy and electoral campaigns.

She’s passionate about education equity, leadership development as well as women’s advocacy. She serves as an active member of the alumni executive board for her undergraduate alma mater, Sewanee: The University of the South. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Campaign Fund (WCF) and is a graduate of WeLEAD, a bipartisan leadership-training program run by the Women & Politics Institute at American University. She’s a former Chair of the Women’s Information Network (WIN) having led the organization during the 2011-2012 executive committee term. 

Outside of work, Carla is also an ultra-runner and street photographer. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Carla received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Sewanee: The University of the South.
