Brandon Jamaal Stroud or B, is a two spirited Child of the African Diaspora whose ideologies focus on the Blackademics journey in higher education. B is founder of BYoself Yoga and the Rowdy Peace Podcast. In both spaces, B hopes to invite individuals into conversations around body dysmorphia across marginalized communities while also highlighting the typical issues we all face on a daily basis. As peace is not a silent journey, Brandon has continued training and learning about holistic wellness practices to support these communities. By using hip hop theory, understanding the impact that post traumatic slave syndrome has on not only Black bodies but all bodies, and yoga, B hopes to bring engaging dialogue around the concept of radical self care. B is trained in communal social justice yoga that focuses on reducing the amount of harm not only caused to the body, but also to the mind, spirit and breath of each individual they interact with. As a yogivist, B uses yoga as their form of social activism and resistance. Their motto is “Stay hydrated in all facets of life, outside of just drinking water. Eat fruits and veggies that not only nourish the body, but the soul, and always remember to be yourself.” B hopes to create space for all to see themselves and use the light within to start their journey of healing.
