Beth Wladyka O’Brien is Director of Special Events at John Jay College. Beth Wladyka O’Brien joined Living Cities in May 2012 as the Director of Strategy and Engagement for the Admiral Center, an initiative that helps athletes and celebrities use their resources and influence to accelerate sustainable and impactful solutions to our nation’s most pressing social problems. Prior to joining Living Cities, Beth served as the Chief of Staff and Vice President of Grants and Programs at the National Park Foundation in Washington, DC. While there, she advised the CEO and oversaw the Foundation’s day to day operations and strategic priorities. Beth was also responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s grant-making programs. Previously, Beth was the Manager of Government Relations and Special Projects at Viacom. Her primary role was to create opportunities to promote Viacom’s corporate social responsibility efforts and build relationships with advocacy organizations. She has also worked as the Events Manager at Population Services International as a member of the Cause-Related Marketing team. Beth began her career as a political fundraiser, working on senatorial and congressional campaigns as well as for the national party committees. Beth is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and lives in northern New Jersey with her husband, Tripp and their son, Luke.
