Anne-Christin Grimme

Anne began her career at Deloitte in Luxembourg, where she primarily worked with investment management companies such as Blackstone and other private equity and real estate investment managers focused on European markets who specialize in investment through both equity and debt strategies. She also worked within Microsoft’s Global Finance Group, where her duties included evaluating the company’s risk management, operations, and governance functions. Most recently, Anne managed the investment process for innovative early-stage startups for the Duke Angel Network and RTP Capital and also worked with Marigold Capital on an impact assessment model and fund strategy for developing a gender- and social equity lens first fund, providing blended capital through equity, debt, and royalties.

Anne has always had a passion for entrepreneurship and social equity – in her free time, she worked with refugee organizations, supported immigrant families, and was involved in the creation and scaling of social impact startups including the Germany-based food and lifestyle company Essen ohne Kohlenhydrate, which to date helped 100k+ individuals live healthier and more sustainable lifestyles, and Audacity Labs, a Durham-based incubator and co-working space for high-school students interested in social and commercial entrepreneurship, developing a financial literacy curriculum and leading the lean startup cohort for the startup’s pilot program in her role as finance lead . Anne also served as the co-president of Duke’s Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club and mentor to Duke’s Student Founders Program.

As both entrepreneur and investor, Anne experienced first-hand the obstacles and potential of entrepreneurship. She made it her mission to support entrepreneurs and help them build a more equitable and sustainable future.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Business Management from University of Hohenheim / Boston University and an MBA with a concentration in Investment Finance and a Management Science and Technology Management (MSTeM) certificate from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. At Duke, Anne studied social entrepreneurship and impact investing under Cathy Clarke.
